What I’ve learned from 5 months on LinkedIN
Thank you. 5 months ago 🕒 I started my journey on LinkedIn with barely any followers or time invested on the platform. Justin Welsh's LI course & encouragement from good friend at Ed Frame helped me go all in on this channel. Today, 5 months later I’ve crossed a goal I had to reach 1000 followers!!! 🎉 To celebrate here below are some key learnings & that you can apply to make the most of your time on LinkedIn. (Also shoutouts to people met on the journey)!
Disclaimer when using any social media use discernment & good judgement, be careful who you connect & share information with. Quality is always more effective than quantity.
1. Real quality people who kick goals in life exist on LinkedIn.
There are honest hardworking people behind most LinkedIn accounts that are making a difference in the place of their calling. Seeing their journey on a daily basis has been inspirational to keep me going in mine. South Asian empowerment is a massive passion of mine & discovering the work of people like Molina Asthana GAICD, Daizy Maan & Jahin Tanvir and then meeting up with them proved to me the power of the platform.
2. Consistency is key.
There have been times when I post & the posts don’t get the crazy amounts of likes/comments that I’d like. The crazy thing is when you see people at events / meet people in your community, they always mention what you’ve posted about & how it leaves an IMPRESSION on them. Each thing you post online is planting a seed that can produce incredible fruit. Being consistent in videos I’ve done like a weekly ‘Community Conviction’ inspired by Jason T. Smith 's 2 minuite conviction, or weekly posts like those of , this has built a brand for myself and opened up to crazy conversations. It also inspired me to start my very own personal website! (thank you Ali Abdaal)
3. In person starts online
There have been countless events of interest that I’ve attended in the last few months only because I’ve seen & heard about them on LinkedIn. This week alone I checked out the Melbourne Accelerator program seeing a post from @marina & last night found myself in whats conned the Sillicon Valley area of Melbourne (Richmond/Cremorne) having pizza & connecting with todays world changers coders at a common code event run by Daryl Antony.
Thank you all for connecting, helping me on my journey & reaching this milestone. Let’s kick goals together in this incredible time of history online that we live in!!! 🎉🎉🎉
